Forming the Competence Tests Specific to the Needs of the Institution
Companies frequently contracting employees need general competence tests weighted on the institutional subjects of interest which some of the applicants have not previously encountered. Baltaş Group prepares general competence tests to be used specifically by the requesting institutions.
How to Prepare a General Competence Test Specific to an Institution?
The process of developing competence tests is conducted by Baltaş consultants specialised in psychology and statistics.
Each competence test assesses five dimensions comprising of
- Giving a meaning
- Analytical thinking
- Visual memory
- Relationship building
- Problem solving
Dimensions to assessing competence on graphics reading and data analysis can also be added to the test depending on the needs of the institutions.
Minimally fifteen questions are prepared for each dimension. The preliminary format is tested on an experimental group of individuals having the same demographics of age, education and experience as the individuals to be contracted. The exprimental group can be constituted by employees of the client institution or one formed by Baltaş. The results of the preliminary test are statistically analysed. The aim of the study is to determine those questions answered by everyone and those not answered by anyone.
The questions are scored on the basis of difficulty. The questions answered by the majority are given a score of “1”, those answered by a minority are given a score of “3”, which concludes this stage of the study.
The mean group score is determined and compared with the scores of the previously designed tests which completes the reliability study of the test.
